How to Customize the Perfect Swimsuit

Almost everyone has struggled to find clothing that fit just the way we want them to in all the right places. Browsing endless websites from all over the world or browsing numerous racks in numerous stores with no clear guidance of sizing indication. Here at Oshen Swim, we recognize the importance of feeling confident and comfortable in the swimwear you wear! We understand how overwhelming it can be to navigate through limited styles that only cater to the "flawless body type." This is why we have made our swimwear customizable in colour, size, and style! In a few easy steps you can have the perfect swimsuit for YOU. So, whether you're preparing for a long planned vacation or just hitting the spa for a weekend, you'll be sure to feel fabulous in your new suit!

Step 1:

Reflect on and understand the occasion the swimsuit is for, and the activity level of this occasion. Are you going to be relaxing on the beach in a lounge chair? Swimming laps? Participating in water sports? Or body surfing through the waves? The type of suit you select will depend on the reason you are buying it. This means that you need a swimsuit that will support you and your specific body style. Yes, we are almost all tempted to get that super sexy tiny bikini, but how often will you actually wear it if you can't stay comfy and secure in it all day?

Step 2:

Get our opinion (it doesn't get much easier than asking for help)! We can provide advice based on how the swimsuit fits, how it will hug your body or the best top/bottom styles to be paired with are just a few areas we can assist you with. If you'd rather speak with someone you know personally, a friend could give you some advice as to what colours and style fit your body and personality. At Oshen swim, we understand the intimidation that comes with swimsuit shopping and some of us are more body shy than others, but we can reassure you that you will never regret asking our team for help, we are here to provide with as much confidence as possible!

Step 3:

Choose your style. Now that you had a period of reflection about why you are buying a suit, you can choose a style that is appropriate to your level of activity. There are countless options available to you if plan on engaging in light activity such as tanning or attending a casual summer event. Based on your personal preference and comfort level, you can go with any style. Tube tops, on shoulder tops and triangle tops are super easy to accessorize if you are looking for a more fashionable style. If you're planning on being more active, or just prefer a more supportive style, a sport or scoop neck suit might be better suited for your needs.

In addition to support, perhaps you are looking for a fashion that falls between between revealing and conservative. It's simple to think of this as being more conservative the more fabric there is. A suit with the least amount of coverage will be a string style. You'll have coverage and comfort with a higher waisted bottom with a lower cut leg and, of course, a one piece. We acknowledge that insecurities are common among women but believe that no one should have to hide their body. Different cut designs and levels of support can enhance your body type, cover up insecurities, and give you the self-assurance every swimmer should have.

Step 4:

Choose your size. Nothing is more difficult than trying to figure out where you fall on a size chart. You're likely to fall anywhere in between sizes most of the time. More annoyingly, how does one measure themselves? The hardest part of buying a swimsuit is sizing, not picking a style. What do you do then? Visit us in store (at Zulu and Wolfe; website listed below) to try on a few different sizes to see what feels best. This avoids the frustration of guesswork!

Step 5:

Select a colour. This is our favourite part! At this point your style and size have been chosen and now you get to browse through all of the gorgeous colours and patterns. Here, it will be helpful to note what colours compliment your skin tone (and which ones you feel the most confident in!).
